Bury Tomorrow

The five-piece metalcore band from Southampton hit a bump on the Black Flame tour when their tour bus broke down, forcing a show to be canceled. Never ones to let setbacks slow them down, bassist Davyd Winter-Bates still took the time to answer our questions via email. Big thanks to Yasemin of HEAD OF PR for making it happen.

How are you guys doing?
DAVYD: Absolutely amazing.

How do you like Stuttgart?
DAVYD: We’ve loved Stuttgart from the very first show we played there. The crowd welcomed us immediately. Definitely one of our favorite German cities.

Musical idols?
DAVYD: I take a lot of influence from amazing frontmen like Corey Taylor and Jacoby Shaddix.

Your life without music?
DAVYD: Probably just a normal job, haha—or skateboarding full-time.

If you were to write a song about Donald Trump, what would you title it?
DAVYD: Waste of Space.

Current favorite album?
DAVYD: I’m really digging the new Fever 333 record.

Southampton?
DAVYD: It’s my home. It’s where my heart is, where my friends are. A chilled city with a lot to offer.

Black Flame, their fifth album, drops this July. And the Knife of Gold video? A bit dark and sinister…
DAVYD: It’s mainly about the music industry and the media’s ability to drain the life out of anything pure and innocent.
